In collaboration with Nanjing Population Program Training Center International (NITC), International Training Workshop on Effective Management and Evaluation of HIV/AIDS and Reproductive Health Programs has been held by Global Health Action (GHA) in NITC, Nanjing, Jiangsu Province from March 18 -27, 2010. More than 20 experts from GHA, UNICEF Ghana, Netherlands Red Cross, Amity Foundation, China Population and Development Center, China Contraceptives Supply and Development Center (CCSC) have attended to this workshop.
The 10-day workshop provides senior to mid-level leaders and managers, who are responsible for HIV/AIDS and reproductive health program development and management with governmental and non-governmental organizations, with the necessary skills to help them design, manage, and evaluate successful evidence-based HIV/AIDS and reproductive health programs. During the workshop, Mr. Robin Davis, Executive Director of GHA, Mr. Bruce Wood, Senior Consultant from GHA, and Prof. Xiangsheng Chen from National Center for AIDS/STD Control and Prevention (NCAIDS) delivered vivid lectures on SWOT Analysis, Design, Needs Assessment, Management, Monitoring and Evaluating, Proposal Writing Skills, as well as the Introduction of HIV/AIDS Prevention and Control in China, with an emphasis on case studies, simulation practice, role-playing, and group discussions.
Besides, this workshop also included site visits to Nanjing Century Reproductive Health Service Center and MarieStopes International (MSI) Nanjing You&Me Health Service Center, with the purpose to experience and learn from on-the-ground HIV/AIDS and reproductive health programs in China.
